Mankell, Henning (Kurt Wallander, Inspector, Sweden)

I found out about this author while checking back on Larsson's books. It seems I had "Hornet's Nest" second instead of "Played with Fire," and I just wanted to make sure I had the order right this time..

Anyway, a couple of you liked this author, so I'm trying him out for myself, and am adding him to the sequels list.

1. Yes, I like his books, too

His books are less kinky and more realistic than Larsson's books, and if you have MHzWorldview TV on your cable or satellite system (sometimes it's on public access), watch for the original Swedish dramatizations of the Wallander books.

I don't like Kenneth Branagh's portrayal in the British series shown on PBS--he looks and acts as if he has a constant hangover. The actor who portrays Wallander in the Swedish version is much more a normal, functional person, although depressed.
