Very confusing but worth the effort. I'm glad to know they get better as you go along...some start out great and go downhill after that.

The current problems of Norway are a surprise to me, and their part in World War II is new to me. We've had so many movies about America in WWII that we get to thinking we fought it all alone, and didn't know that some Europeans were held accountable for helping Hitler and spent years in jail. Very enlightening.

It is a futuristic timey wimey adventure made possible by a drug developed as a weapon , and is so addictive that you are addicted as soon as you take one dose. Our hero's' wife puts it in his coffee( she has taken it at a party}----

PKD is awesome! just finished the book and I haven't decided what is next , but it wont be sci fi.

11. The Reserve, by Russell Banks

I've never read any of his books before now. I'm about a quarter of the way into this one, and I like it so far. Amazon readers only give it 3 stars, and it was panned in a couple of reviews. This makes me look forward to reading more of Banks' books, which all get higher ratings from readers.

19. Very disappointed by the details

This is supposedly set in Portland, Maine. None of the details are accurate. One of the things I've always liked about Child's books is the location detail. But I'm having a hard time getting past the things that I know are not correct. Silly things like the location of highway rest areas, description of the waterfront, etc.

The story is good but now I know I'll question details in subsequent books. I know I should accept it and I probably will but it's tough when you know the area so well.
