Ha, ha. About two weeks ago one fine person here at DU posted something about this book and an old Nazi propaganda book. I keep getting this email about this book with differant guests who can come and talk about it. Just now I got this email: ______________ Rush Limbaugh praises controversial new kid’s book Rush Limbaugh—radio’s top-rated host—lauds the author of Help! Mom! There Are Liberals Under My Bed for standing up for traditional values in the face of relentless liberal attacks.
Limbaugh: “Our hat is off here to Katharine DeBrecht!” Scoffs at anti-DeBrecht comments by MSNBC “quasi-host” Ron Reagan.
Rush Limbaugh, the nation’s highest rated talk radio host, devoted time on his show today to praise Katharine DeBrecht—mother of three and author of a new conservative children’s book—for standing up against a relentless smear campaign by liberals. “Help! Mom! There Are Liberals Under My Bed is the title of the book,” Limbaugh proclaimed to his audience, encouraging them to go out and purchase copies. “It tells of two brothers who open a lemonade stand. Their plans to save up their hard earned profits to buy a swing set go awry when a Ted Kennedy character taxes away their profits and a pants-suit clad Hillary Clinton look-alike outlaws sugary drinks. (Hey, Ahnold of Californa just signed a new law banning soda pop from schools, and he's so not a liberal.) The talk radio ratings king went on to read a quote from DeBrecht: “Liberals have been foisting their ideological agenda on our kids for years, and now they’re beside themselves that someone would stand up to them. Evidently books about socialist fish and gay kings are OK, but a story about hard work and self-reliance is too extreme.”
Limbaugh noted that Ron Reagan—whom he referred to as an “MSNBC quasi-host”—scolded DeBrecht on his cable television show, and that Alan Colmes, the liberal co-host of Hannity & Colmes, claimed her book existed for the purpose of brainwashing. Limbaugh went on to note that the popular Democratic Underground website named DeBrecht to its “Top 10 Conservative Idiots” list, and that the leading left-wing blog Daily Kos likened her book to Nazi propaganda.
“Once again we find conservatives able to be totally honest about who liberals are,” said Limbaugh, praising DeBrecht for her observation that liberals oppose religion, traditional families, and the free market because those institutions are obstacles to eliminating personal responsibility and establishing a welfare state. “And I’m telling you, the liberals cringe—they go ape!—when you dare be honest about them. They call it an attack!”
“Our hat is off here to Katharine DeBrecht, the author of Help! Mom! There Are Liberals Under My Bed,” Limbaugh said in concluding the segment.
“I’ve always dreamed of being named an associate professor at the University for Advanced Conservative Studies,” says DeBrecht, responding to the talk king’s comments, “I am honored by Rush Limbaugh’s praise of my book.” (Of course you little Nazi)
