Anyone ever read "Flicker" by Theodore Roszak?
It came out in the early '90s but now Darren Aronofsky is directing a film based on a script written by Jim Uhls. The book is great and has been reissued by Chicago Review Press.

It's a long book and quite chilling - without giving away the plot, if you love old films and a good psychological thriller, you'd really enjoy this book. :hi:

2. I'm very excited about any project Aronofsky is involved in.

3. Me too.
Unfortunately, IMDB doesn't list any more details, like who's in it, or when it's coming out, so I have no idea what the status of this project is.

4. There have been a couple of entries on aintitcool news
It was originally supposed to be a blockbuster with Brad Pitt, but he didn't gel with Aronofsky, so the movie was rebudgeted smaller and recast with Hugh Jackman. Aronofsky can do wonders with a small budget and I've read he said that the movie is much more focused and possibly better, although the large-scale version would have also been very good.

5. It's been on my Amazon 'Wish List' for a while
basically since I heard about the planned Aronofsky adaptation. From what I do know of the story, it sounds really interesting - good to hear the positive feedback.

I remember reading someone somewhere suggesting that Paul Auster had seemingly nicked stuff from it for his The Book of Illusions (which I also haven't read).
