What's on your Christmas wish list?
What would you like to find under your tree, or will you buy for yourself with that B&N gift card?
A couple of books I'd like to read are Barbara Boxer's "A Time To Run" and Richard Clarke's "The Scorpion's Gate".
Please add suggestions/ideas. A good compilation might also help someone to figure out what book to buy for Uncle Morton this year.

1. I just renewed my B&N membership
Richardo says he gives me a special discount.

I just got two copies of Franken's new book. One for me, and one for a friend. It makes a good gift, I hear.

2. Rove, Hadley, and Cheney indictments.
Actually, I'd be happy with any two of the three.

4. Find ANY Asimov non-fiction
Especially the anthologies of his science essays such as "The Left Hand of the Electron" or "X the Unknown." He ranges over every topic from relativity to astronomy to evolution, making complex topics crystal clear, and each essay is a gem and a joy to read.

Most are out of print, so you will need to scour used bookstores, but it is so worth it.

5. Pink Floyd's "Pulse" DVD

It was originally scheduled to come out on December 20th, and I've gotta tell ya...I was NOT looking forward to going to Tower five days before Christmas. I'd rather wait and stand in a "normal" line to buy it on its new release date, January 17th.

8. I have an old VHS copy...
...it was initially broadcast as a Pay-Per-View event, which was cool, because I taped it LIVE as it happened.

I hope that if they are releasing this they will follow it with its predecessor, "The Delicate Sound of Thunder..."

9. I wouldn't mind seeing Lynne Truss's new book
"Talk to the Hand"...it's a long rant about rudeness in today's society. Written in Ms. Truss's intimable style. I very much liked "Eats, Shoots and Leaves", so I would like to get her new book. :-)

10. Is It Just Me or Is Everything Shit?
Because it sounds like perfect holiday reading (& I've dropped several hints)

"If you hate: loft living; bar-clubs; Tony Blair; chick lit; global warming sceptics; Keane; loyalty cards; IKEA; Kabbalah; bling and Richard Curtis...then you need IS IT JUST ME OR IS EVERYTHING SHIT? - an encylopedic attack on modern culture and the standard reference work for everyone who believes everything is shit. Which it is. This book is for the large percentage of the population interested in saying NO to the phoney ideas, cretinous people, useless products and doublespeak that increasingly dominate our lives. This book is designed for everyone who thinks they may have mislaid their soul in a Coffee Republic. Never before has there been a book so completely full of shit. This very funny, well-informed, belligerent rant of a book adds up to an excoriating broadside against consumer capitalism that the authors hope will sell loads of copies."

11. The Complete Calvin & Hobbes
I'm not sure what else; I haven't had time to think about adult fiction since the school year started. I've been on a treasure hunt:

I need some historical fiction for middle-schoolers, ancient civilizations before or concurrent with egypt, before greece and rome. Phoenicians, Hittites, Bablylonians, Persians, etc.. So far I've found a set of picture books retelling Gilgamesh myths, and some recreated biblical histories for home-schooled christians. Still looking for classroom appropriate historical fiction.

Any suggestions?
