"Ireland: A Novel" by Frank Delaney

Get yourself psyched up for St. Patrick's Day by reading Delaney's novel!

The novel is a collection of magical Irish tales, with a backstory of a young boy who becomes obsessed with a traveling storyteller and various family secrets and tragedies affecting the boy's life as he grows to adulthood.

Through the storyteller's multiple appearances, you'll read of the building of Newgrange, Brian Boru, St. Brendan the Navigator, Strongbow, and Finn MacCool. Read how St. Patrick drove the snakes -- and the Devil himself -- out of Ireland, and more besides.

If you have any Irish blood, or just a love of a good tale, I think you'll enjoy "Ireland."
