The Third Secret by Steve Berry
I really liked it. The characters were all interesting and I loved the mystery mixed with religion and politicking. The ending was a little of a letdown, but I really didn't mind since I enjoyed the book.

1. I've got about 75 pages to go...
should finish it tonight. Am enjoying it well enough up to now - it's a good beach or long flight book. I'll comment again when I finish...

2. Now that I've finished...
I agree with you regarding the ending - I just wanted a little....more.
But a jolly good read all the same. I read the Amber Room by him and enjoyed that too. Waiting for his newest, The Templar Legacy to come out in paperback.
