Anybody read Sarah Dunant's In the Company of the Courtesan |

yet? She also wrote The Birth of Venus, which I enjoyed, but the novel I favor most is Mapping the Edge. The latter is set in modern times and involves almost a kaleidescopic view of a very strange woman's very weird visit to Florence.

The voice of the dwarf was forced, sounded like a woman trying too hard to be a man....
I don't know... I enjoyed it... Would recommend it.... But it wasn's nearly as good as Birth of Venus....
