"The Pushcart War," Large Object Theory of History, Courtesy act
This 1964 children's book is fantastic. As a third grader in the early 70s, part of it appeared in my school reading textbook and I was so enamored with the story that I went out and read the rest of the book.

The link below to wikipedia gives a great summary of the book.

Even though it's a little old, we still hear the ideas from that book. The "large object theory of history" has become "market share" today. And who wouldn't want a courtesy act? Wouldn't it be nice if we could put bush in jail for not having the courtesy to tell us the whole truth instead of the half-truths that he seems to deliver every single day?

1. I love that book!
I read it aloud to my 5th & 6th grade class back when I was teaching. I still recommend it to tutors in the adult literacy program I work for.
