novel:
The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Due to be released Sept. 15. Hansen wrote the screenplay too, if my web searches are correct.

Pitt seems as if he's a good casting choice for Jesse James.
It's also an opportunity for a terrific sound track, maybe including Ry Cooder's and Emmylou Harris' music... and others, too.
