The good news: It's not about economics. It's about how people get what they want - what incentivizes (word?) people. The tools of economics allow you to measure this.

The better news: The two Steve's connect seemingly unrelated events. Most notably, the correllation of Roe v Wade and the precipitous drop in the national crime rate 15-25 years later. Amazing, and sure to disturb (to say the least) those who are anti-abortion.

I recommend it highly.

1. Bought the CD version
Figure I can donate it to the library when I'm done and write it off as a charitable donation on my taxes.

But first, I have to finish up Lois Lowry's "The Giver."

2. It is not just Roe vs. Wade. It is all manner of reproductive health
and access to birth control.

But the same crime drop happened in Canada. So that goes to show it had nothing to do with Gulianni & his ilk.

Oh and the drug problem (a side effect of Vietnam) is what keeps crime up these days.
