Just finished "Into This Air"

It's a fantastic book to read. For those who haven't read it yet, it is about the tragedy on Mt. Everest during the 1996 expedition.

1. Let me correct myself: "Into Thin Air"

2. People can be so careless with thier lives

I read this book some time ago. It left me with two impressions. Mt. Everest has been trashed just like any other tourist attraction and people will put their lives at risk for an expensive thrill. The odds are rather high that you will die on the mountain.

3. I enjoyed all of Krakauer's books

"Into the Wild" was excellent, as was "Under the Banner of Heaven." I highly recommend them.

I've found myself hooked on mountain climbing books. There's just something about them that makes for a great story.

Check out Jon Kraukuer's In The Wild. It's pretty good too. He's got another book "Under the Banner of Heaven" which is about fundamentalist mormons. It's a good book, but completely different than Into Thin Air.

Since you liked Into Thin Air, I highly recommend "Touching the Void," about a climbing accident on Suila Grande, in the Andes. It's an even more incredible story than the Everest disaster.

They made a film of it too, occasionally on PBS.

I also loved Under the Banner of Heaven, especially relevant since I live in Utah.

Also read Into the Wild by Kraukuer. About a young man who goes to Alaska to try and survive in the wilderness. Fascinating story.
