Book about FDR presidency?

Does anyone have any recommendations? I'd be interested in reading a biography eventually, but right now am interested in a historical treatment of his presidency.

1. I'm reading an interesting take on FDR from Robert Jackson's memoirs

called "That Man". It provides an interesting look at the inner workings of his presidency.

I once read a really good thorough biography on FDR from my local library, but I can't remember which author wrote it and this is bugging me a great deal. I have also read Franklin Delano Roosevelt: Champion of Freedom by Conrad Black, and that's a good one too.

I've read a number of presidential biographies so if you need a reccomendation, I can point you towards some pretty good books if you should want to read more about our presidents. I'm actually thinking of writing a book myself on American political history and I am increasing my diet of books on our presidents.

2. I LOVE "The Democratic Roosevelt" written by New Dealer...

Rexford Tugwell.

It's the best one volume biography, despite being written in the late 1950s.

Among the series, I prefer Kenneth Davis over Geoffrey Ward.

3. It would make a nice holiday gift to some of our Dem congress persons

as a reminder of what a true Dem is! I know my DINO senator could use a refresher!

everything on this forum). Its VERY long, comes in three parts, really good, though...
