I guess James Frey made most of it up.

2. tha't pretty savage
I haven't read the book, so I can't comment on that, but TSG must be pretty damn sure to risk Doubleday's lawyers.

9. Recovering addicts are honest. He's not in recovery. Not yet.
I don't think he's dealt with his issues at all and he's what they refer to as a "dry drunk." I'm not in AA but I have close friends and family members who are and I know some about it. )I don't personally agree with all that AA says but I do think that if it works for someone that it's better than using drugs or alcohol.) I read the book and even without the SG find it hard to believe in some places. Exaggerating and outright lying are symptoms of a user. That usually ends when someone confronts their addictions and deals with them. He did neither one, so he still lies.

I haven't read the book, but if this guy lied like they allege--terrible.

6. It was featured on NPR tonight
Sounds like he pretty much blew a 2-hour jail stay into a months-long prison experience. Best award for fiction, I'd say....

was disgusting.

It is all about the ends justify the means.

No wonder so many people just shrug off Bush's lies. Bleh.
