Ann Rule's...
book on the Green River Killer, Green River Running Red is sensational. I read it in one sitting. Absolutely her best book.

1. Cool.
I was waiting for it to come out, and saw it in the grocery store the other day, but had to wait. I'm splurging this weekend and getting it.

I read the old one years ago, but it will be interesting getting the killer's perspective as well as the "mystery man" angle.

2. I enjoy reading Ann Rule.
She's one of the best in the true-crime genre. I can remember reading The Stranger Beside Me years ago, and being afraid to turn the lights out!!

3. That one tripped me out too
Mainly the fact that she worked with him at that crisis line. Although, some evil part of me is amused that Ted Bundy was once a rising star in the Republican Party.

4. Yeah, that's pretty comical about him being a Young Republican.
Did you happen to watch that Domenick Dunne show on Court TV last night? He told the story of a female politician in MD, a Repub of course, who once ran for US Senator from MD. She attempted to hire a hit man to kill her husband and another guy - what is it with these people?

5. "Stranger Beside Me" was the scariest book I ever read
including the entire Stephen King opus.

The way whe described how he could find an open basement window or whatever and get into a locked house was horrifying. And the way some of his victims simply disappeared like the one walking home from the fraternity, or the one at the ski hotel - when I travel, my S.O. makes me call him and check in when I've arrived at my hotel for the night and am locked in my room.

My one girlfriend made the mistake of reading it at our beach house in the middle of the summer, and she had to sleep with all the doors and windows locked (no a/c) until we arrived on Friday afternoon.

6. Ann Rule called me at work..
Someone had spammed the comments page of her latest book at Barnesandnoble.com a few years ago, and I picked up her complaint at the call center I worked at.

I took care of it.

I also told her that I read "Stranger Beside Me" but that I haven't finished it. She encouraged me to finish it, but I still haven't yet.

7. Funny you should mention that one
I'm about 2/3 of the way through. Good book, but I don't think it's one of her best. A little too disjointed. Still a fascinating story.
