Cowboy Republic: Six Ways the Bush Gang Has Defied the Law

Book Description

In Cowboy Republic, Marjorie Cohn offers a penetrating analysis of the six most important ways in which the Bush administration has weakened the rule of law. Cohn, a respected legal scholar, details the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq; the policy of torture; war crimes; Guantanamo’s kangaroo courts; unconstitutional laws; and the unlawful surveillance of American citizens. She concludes with practical ways to strengthen the rule of law domestically and internationally, including both political and legal remedies.

2. By Republic Cowboy, do you mean a man who moves brush,
and calls himself the decider. I thought that a cowboy lived off the land and not the hardwork of other's.

4. Number 8
Cheney and Bush were from the same state, so their candidacy together was and is unconstitutional.

Number 9 - Manufacturing of evidence, namely the Niger Yellowcake forgeries, then committed additional numerous felonies in covering it up, including number 10.

Number 10 - Outing an active CIA agent who was currently engaged in WMD monitoring, both violating laws banning such an action, damaging our country's ability to protect itself, and endangering the public in pursuit of protecting their fake evidence justifying an illegal war.

Number 11 - Intentional and wanton destruction of the separation of church and state.

5. Does Cohn offer original insights?
We all know something about how bush has defied the law. Does Cohn offer anything original about this? Or, are her proposed remedies particularly interesting and orginal?
