The Tender Bar: A Memoir by J.R. Moehringer
I just recently finished this book and highly recommend it. This is the kind of book that has you rolling on the floor laughing hysterically one moment and the next moment almost in tears.

It's about a fatherless young boy and his evolution to manhood, all-the-while searching for a male role-model and finding it amongst the colorful characters at a neighborhood bar. Very honest, self-deprecating, witty account of this man's life - his failures, and his accomplishments - and the reliance and admiration he held for this unlikely support group at the bar.

2. It has given me a lot of inspiration
I'm writing my first ever fiction, and when I read Tender Bar, I started to learn so much about good character analysis and the importance of injecting wit, humor, etc. that I think it is helping me to improve my own book.
