Winner Take All by Richard J. Elkus Jr.
Fora.tv, www.fora.tv, is one of my favorite websites. I was browsing through the fora videos and found one of Richard J. Elkus talking to the Common Wealth Club of California http://fora.tv/2008/09/03/Richard_Elkus_Competitiveness_Shapes_the_Fate_of_Nations

The book is about America's technological decline. He says, basically, and I'm sure most everyone here already knows this, that America is on the edge of an economic precipice. At the end of WW2, the U.S. was the leader in technology and innovation, but our position since then has steadily declined. He links our economic decline to the decline in technology and innovation, which he says is linked to corporate America's deemphasis and withdrawal from the consumer electronics business. Again, most of us know this. In Winner Take All, Elkus explains why, in his mind, this has happened. I just got my copy in the mail yesterday http://www.powells.com/biblio/1-9780465003150-0
