"Get a Life That Doesn't Suck" by Michelle DeAngelis
Does life suck? Go from crappy to happy
Consultant and coach Michelle DeAngelis on taking control of your choices

In her new book, “Get a Life That Doesn't Suck,” consultant and life coach Michelle DeAngelis serves up a combination of street-smart wisdom and cheerful irreverence as she shares how to enjoy life regardless of the roadblocks or potholes along the way. DeAngelis shows that joy is a repeatable by-product of living one's life in integrity and of making conscious choices every day that kick misery, worry and guilt to the curb. She explains how most people are not naturally equipped to deal with life's challenges and then introduces foundational tools and effective techniques to take readers from crappy to happy. In this excerpt, she writes about how you can take control of your choices.

1. wonder if she's on one of those mood altering drugs . . .
I mean, no one can be cheery and upbeat ALL of the time . . . at least not without some chemical assistance . . .

2. I guess if you stay there all the time without chemical assistance, that would be
NIRVANA, wouldn't it?
But, from experience, I know there are things that can increase happiness. Take money, for example. Of course, many folks who have money aren't happy (at least not perpetually).
I think it was a SNL skit (or maybe MAD t.v.) that was done like a drug commercial:
"Are you feeling down about your life, etc.?" "Have you tried MONEY? Yes, Money can help you feel better. Ask your Doctor about money." I laughed my ass off over that one!

3. Thanks for that; I will check it out...
I believe that such is the case, that we are in control of our choice whether or not to be happy. For the two posters above me, I would like to say that I know people with lots of money and I do not feel that they are delirious because of it. And upon reading the synopsis of the OP, I don't think that DeAngelis is saying that we will be in constant bliss. It's just the difference between constant suffering and feeling consistently at peace.
