The following is the message I wrote all my friends, left and right on the political spectrum, just after I had read only one chapter of John's book. Now that I have relished every word, reading a full 50% out loud to my husband, I can recommend "Wingnuts" even more whole-heartedly.................

Someone is finally speaking up in a way we applaud! Margaret Hoover's new husband, John Avlon, has just released a book called "Wingnuts." (I am fascinated by the publisher, as well as by John, whom I met last year and thoroughly enjoyed, while hearing about his show on CNN.) It is a concise little book, which I plan to hand out to anyone I know who loves politics and has been disappointed in the past few years.

On every page is a lucid explanation of everything happening in American politics. John's quiet, rational approach, is objective, including equal criticism and analysis of both left and right wing "nuts," along with all of us in the center (the only "usable pavement," according to President Eisenhower, who said, "the right and left wings are in the gutters.")

1. I have not seen his book, but when I observe and listen to his solutions

on TV, he presents Republican solutions . When he was
there to give analysis on Tea Party Convention and Palin
he was not that critical.

Are we talking about the same John Avalon--Libertarian,extraordinaire.

2. Puts me off that KO is on the cover along with some true nuts.

It makes me doubt the sincerity of the book and of the author's intention. I don't consider Olbermann a fanatic. I have seen him be fair and honest, willing to change his mind when presented with facts. That is not in the same category with the others on the cover, or with what I think of as a rabid lunatic.

and there are no "lefties" to blame here.
