Any Jon and Kate fans (or haters) here?

I used to love the show but now I find myself wanting to jump through the screen and strangle Kate. Turns out I am not alone. Found some websites:

I stumbled on the show a while back and was intrigued by the premise - how does a family with both sextuplets and twins cope. The more I watched the more I realized it had morphed from a show about the trials and tribulations of a family with two sets of multiples to a show about a greedy slacker couple who are exploiting their small children for fun and profit. Those kids are shown on the toilet, in the doctor's office, etc. The parents had professional stage lighting installed in the home so that every action of those kids could be filmed. Lately they've apparently run out of ideas at home so they've taken to the road - most recently a free trip to a lavish resort on Maui for the stated purpose of having Jon and Kate renew their wedding vows. What a fiasco that was. The parents have alienated their friends and family, so the only people they could drudge up for the event were some relatives of Jon's he hadn't seen in twenty years who happen to live nearby. The kids could not have cared less about the whole thing and acted up throughout the ceremony. Other episodes have dealt with the husband's free hair plugs - obtained in Los Angeles while the flu-ridden kids were left at home with babysitters, and Kate's free tooth whitening and tummy tuck. Just eeeewwwww.

The family recently moved into a million plus home, but it hasn't stopped the parents from appearing at churches to share their sob story about how tough they have it and pass the hat looking for "love offerings."

They are known on the above site as KON and I think it's an apt description. People there are also concerned about violations of child labor laws that apparently don't cover kids on "reality" shows.
The sooner this travesty is off the air the better.

9. That wedding was a joke

So few people there. I kind of felt sorry for them. They are big TV stars and couldn't even get a respectable amount of people to come to their wedding.

13. They've alienated everybody. Kate apparently doesn't speak

to her parents. Even relatives who've appeared on the show in the past have been cut out of their lives. They are so callous they tried to sell a Christmas ornament given to the kids by Jon's now deceased father at a yard sale because, as Kate explained, the glitter was getting on the carpet. One of the twins spotted it and rescued it. Just awful people.

14. Their parents have never been a part of the show

Kate said (I think in the first season?) that their parents "are not a part of our lives".

Can you imagine having such a beautiful and challenging family and NOT wanting to share those children with your own parents? Not to mention, look at all the babysitters they might find in their own families! Aunt Jody is IT and now apparently Kate has had some sort of falling out with her.

15. Apparently TLC wanted to pay Aunt Jodi for her

participation on the show since she was the "go to" babysitter, but Kate would have none of it. Did you catch the episode where Jodi watched the kids and made the apparently huge mistake of giving them gum. A couple of them had gum on their persons and belongings when they returned home and Kate went ballistic, called Jodi, and read her the riot act on air. She also threatened to throw out one of the kid's stuffed animals because it had some gum on it. Poor kid started to cry and one of the twins intervened. What an ungrateful, mean-spirited shrew.

She is ignored by both parents because Mady gets all the attention. She quietly goes around doing what she is supposed to do but then the frustration boils over and she has a fit.

Mady is the squeaky wheel who will always get attention. Cara is the sleeper.

5. I think the kids are adorable and I love the show.

Kate IMO is just being real. She's harsh sometimes but considering what she has to deal with I think that comes with the territory. She even admits to trying to change and give up some of the control. ie...on last night's show she let the kids keep one Elmo doll they had gotten for St Jude cancer kids. Her kids love her and that means a lot.

I am also concerned about Mady. She has issues. Poor kid.

10. They're sort of addictive...

It's like a psychological study. Kate seems to be the biggest shrew in the world, and her husband will just sit meekly and listen to her rave. The kids are priceless, but yes, they are all being horribly exploited. Willingly so.
