that has been posting their thoughts regularly after each episode.

I think the last 2 episodes have been awesome - two of the best of the entire 4 seasons. I'm afraid to speculate on what is coming and I'm refusing to watch the previews of next week's show, though I do know Ellen Tigh is coming back. I think the other cylons are going to play a major role down the road...

edited to add - I'm afraid to speculate because I've been wrong so many times!

3. My theory
Edited on Sun Feb-08-09 12:38 PM by Longhorn Liberal
is that Humans and Cylons take turns creating each other every few thousand years or so. In this cycle, Humans created the Cylons who rebelled and destroyed humanity. In the previous cycle Cylons created Humans, who rebelled and destroyed the Cylons. A chain stretching back for who knows how long.

Starbuck is the unwitting instrument of the people (not supernatural beings) who started it all. They are either manipulating her to continue the cycles or to end it all for some reason.

4. That's similar to what I think
Not sure about SBuck. After last week I think Adama might be God though. Nice little reference to Jesus washing and clothing the "enemy"

6. The original BSG series had aliens called 'Seraphs' that played that sort of role
Though the whole of the original BSG series (the old one with Lorne Greene) was a knock off of the book of Mormon – and where they obviously got the name of the Seraphs – it's possible that the new BSG is adding a similar race. However, a post I read somewhere suggested that the Final Five play the same role in the new series, which makes more sense. It's kind of late in the day to add a formerly unknown alien race to the plot. It would feel contrived.

I am pretty sure that there's a time loop going on somehow between the old destroyed Earth and the 'present time' humans and Cylons. I think that Starbuck actually went back in time when she disappeared, and might have had something to do with the old Earth's destruction. Just a feeling...

8. I was thinking that too
When she disappeared, it seemed to me that she went into and through a blackhole / wormhole. This explains how she arrived at Earth and back in the span of 6 hours (her time), but 2 months had passed (everyone else's time).

9. I think the colonists might find that the FTL drive
Has been sending them through time as well as space.

10. If one assumes that BSG isn't science fiction,
but rather science futurism, then the FTL would travel them forward in time. But that opens a whole other can of worms: why doesn't time pass faster for the Galactica versus Raptor recon teams, and does the shifting of time speed only affect those on the ground (aka, those that don't / haven't travelled at FTL).

11. Erm, no.
In order for her and the rest of the fleet to experience radically different spans of time, she would have to have been traveling very close to the speed of light. If she had simply teleported, then she should have experienced 2 months like everyone else.

Likeliest explanation: she was unconscious for much of the 2 months.

13. I'm wondeing if Cavil found the 13th colony first, and dead Kara.
And cloned her somehow to be sent back to the fleet as a red herring/sleeper agent.

Finally we got some real explanation about the relationship between the Five, the eight (not seven!) models, and the centurions.

Who'da thunk the more primitive centurions were the ones to come up with that "one true god" religion?
