Country of origin: U.S.
Genre: Comedy
Story: In an alternative universe where the concept of lying does not exist, a man discovers how to lie.
Acting: Strange and excellent. The characters in this movie always say what is on their mind, they seem to have no control over themselves in this regard.
Humor: Extremely funny. The audience laughed and laughed.
Violence: Absolutely no violence whatsoever. I know no violence sounds horrible, but the movie is really good despite this drawback.
Sex: Sex is mentioned, but there is no nudity or sex scenes.
Overall: Some people are deeply offended by
The Invention of Lying because they poke fun of the Old Testament. I read about four or five reviews which state this movie is anti-Christian, but Christianity is never mentioned and none of the jokes seem to concern the New Testament, I suppose I could have missed an anti-Christian joke while laughing at a previous joke.
The Invention of Lying does have atheist themes, I guess some are deeply offended by the existence of atheists. I highly suggest this movie to people who enjoy laughing.
The hero uses his new power for both good and not exactly good.
