" I was sitting next to the guy (Michael) while the news is making this crap up."
Rob Hoffman, former sound engineer for Michael Jackson. Click below and READ his memories of working with Michael. They're very touching - and a 180 from the person the MEDIA portrayed Michael as - as EVERY accounting from EVERY person who's ever actually MET and worked with Michael Jackson is. That's a CLUE.

"Once, while we were taking a break, I think we were actually watching the OJ chase on TV, there was a news program talking about him being in Europe with some little boy. I was sitting next to the guy (Michael) while the news is making this crap up. He just looked at me and said 'this is what I have to deal with.'" - Rob Hoffman, Sound Engineer who worked with Michael Jackson

These guys, seemingly have NOTHING to gain from telling their stories of working with Jackson. They're NOT out to profit from it by going to the media or writing 'tell-all' books. These are just memories of working with The Man that they're sharing for posterity on a gear site. They COULD be lying, but right now, I can't see why they would.

4. We may never know all the facts about Michael Jackson.
I grew up with his music, and he was an incredible talent. Sometimes talented people don't see things the way the rest of us do, perhaps that's what makes them able to be so creative.

I wish he hadn't allowed himself to be put in compromising positions, but he did. And that is not one of his better thoughts.

Still, I'm thankful for the music he left behind. I prefer his older stuff more than the later stuff (Bad was the last thing I bought).

I don't know what kind of a person MJ was, but I look at his friends, people like Elizabeth Taylor and Diana Ross, and they're basically good people. I wouldn't think they'd befriend someone who would harm others. We'll probably never know.

From what I've seen of today's M$M, it's certainly not below them to make up stories about people.

6. I'd believe the accounts of those who knew/worked with him before I'd believe

the media. The media would offer people thousands of dollars for "dirt" on Michael. Didn't matter whether it was true or not - if they could twist and sensationalize it and make a profit off it, they'd publish it. They TOLD people I know that worked with him the "only wanted negative" information about him because positive information doesn't sell. They wanted DIRT only - and they didn't care if it was true or accurate.

During the 2005 trial they didn't report most of what went on in the courtroom. Most of them weren't even IN the courtroom. There was a LOT that was in Michael's favor - prosecution had a flimsy case - but the media wouldn't report any of that. Then, the public was astonished when he was acquitted - but no one who was actually in the courtroom was surprised. The slanted coverage was typical of what they do in politics, too. Same M.O. When Aphrodite Jones wanted to publish her book about the trial and what REALLY went on in the courtroom, publishers told her "we don't publish PRO-Jackson stuff! It doesn't sell!" - same as the media - so she had to self-publish.

The media can't be trusted. Hoffman's account is yet another example of how they operate. I hate them.

Anyway, yes - Hoffman's memories are great to read! And they mesh with accounts of Michael that others have given - same guy, same behavior (wouldn't cuss, etc.) - so I don't think the guy is lying. I LOVE the story where he hit the grumpy guy with a pie! He was a prankster and he loved food fights.

8. I've often wondered why Jackson was targeted like that...
there had to be a big reason from some big people to continuously discredit and hound him like that. So he was a bit of an eccentric, that is just not reason enough to be so viscious for so long.

and like that prick upthread... some people are just basically mean and viscious little shits.
and Michael appeared to be genuinely kind
