Rachel Zoe weighs a dangerously thin 80 pounds, a doctor estimates to UsMagazine.com.

The celeb stylist, 38, showed off an emaciated figure while vacationing in St. Barts Thursday. She also Twittered that she’s battling bronchitis.

"When one is that thin and gets sick, it is incredibly easy to die, and not to be able to fight off any infection because there are no nutrients in the body to help her immune system,” says Dr. Fred Pescatore, who penned The Hamptons Diet.

"She looks like she has an eating disorder," continues Pescatore, who has not treated the Bravo reality show star. "One can see every rib and her arms are smaller than twigs."

...so long as she doesn't purport to be some sort of authority on health and fitness. But beside the point, there is the definite influence on people in a society that keeps sending the message that you're a failure unless you're thin 'enough'.

As for the photo, I personally don't think it's a good thing to be able to see that much of a woman's skeletal system in her chest area.

presenters and winners are dressed by her. She may not be a health and fitness authority but she definitely influences how women want to look.

she was the one who convinced a lot of those young starlets to do crack and meth in order to look fashionably thin aka "emaciated" (Lohan and Ritchie, to name a couple). She's nasty, but that being said, she also appears to be anorexic and needs help before it's too late.

I wanted to produce a t shirt with an anorexic, hunched over the toilet, and a message to them "Keep puking, you're still fat!"

I was excoriated for my insensitivity to the suffering anorexics go through. Funny how an anorexic's "eat properly"/"keep yourself alive" brain cells don't work, but their "outrage" brain cell works just fine.
