All of Conan's NBC websites and shows on Hulu are toast.

Meanwhile, Ahnold loving Leno is everything and everywhere.

We're not going to watch you, dinosaur.

1. And we should care because??????????????????
Like we're supposed to a( give a flying fuck of a damn, and b) feel sorry for someone who's being paid forty million bucks severance? Yeah, sure, right. Yawn.

9. Which still leaves him how many millions again?
While millions of jobless Americans are gonna lose their UE benefits shortly, with no job in sight despite diligent desperate efforts, and have no idea how they're gonna feed themselves and their families and get them needed health care without losing what little they have left? Yeah, right, poor baby. Triple yawn.

14. Conan fought hard to make sure his staff got paid, which NBC wasn't going to do.

18. And he and his staff were extremely well-paid
for it, too, weren't they? Far more than the rest of us will ever see in our lifetimes. Nice try.

22. I guess anyone that gets paid well is scum? Im not sure what you're trying to say
Edited on Mon Feb-08-10 01:19 PM by no limit
How does how much money he got paid play in to this?

I suppose you never watch Rachael Maddow since she gets paid more in a year than most of us will see in a lifetime, right? Shit, I can't imagine what you think of Jon Stewert, that guy probably makes more in a day.

23. No, I didn't say that. I'm simply saying that all of this
weeping and wailing and hand-wringing over the "unfairness" of his treatment is ridiculous because, one, he's just an entertainer and it's really not that important a deal; and two, he's getting a megamillion-dollar severance. I'll save my sympathy, worry and concern over those millions who are out of work, facing bankruptcy and/or poverty, and have no severance at all, let alone a gazillion-dollar one.

27. That's not true
NBC had intended to work out individual severance packages with his staff. http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/tv/2010/01/20/2010-01-20_conans_bid_for_staff__a_pr_ploy.html

4. As a liberal historian one would think you would care a little.
The liberal court jester was replaced by the conservative court jester. Long live conservatives.

:sarcasm:

This looks like a good time to post this 80's clip of Chris Elliot doing his version of Leno. :P

10. Leno is not funny.
He is boring and stupid. And his only guest seems to be the Gubernator.

He failed in his new time slot because he is dull, dull, dull. Yawn, I can't even dislike him enough to get a good rant going. He's just too boring.

Technically, that would be The Tomorrow Show. :P

26. He understood how to interview people, and usually only had one guest
Edited on Mon Feb-08-10 02:52 PM by SoCalDem
so you actually learned a lot about whatever the topic was...or if he had more than one guess, it was an ensemble or complete cast of a show..but there was usually one theme..and just conversation..

I knew the end was near when they made him have an audience.. he hated that.. and then he got pushed out.. I always loved the way he talked about "Mother" too..

he was a class-act.

29. The fault lies squarely on NBC execs for this debacle, not Jay
I switched over to Letterman when Conan took over the Tonight Show. It is a question of personal preference, and I never cared for Conan's humor even when he was on Late Night, watching the funnier Craig Ferguson.
