Lil Wayne -- Eight Root Canals in One Sitting
Lil Wayne just had one of the gnarliest oral surgeries in the history of dentistry. We're told it was a marathon session that included a stomach-turning eight root canals at one time.

Our sources say Wayne went under the drill on Tuesday.

We're told during the eight hour procedure, Wayne had his grill worked on, several tooth implants redone, more implants added and had the few real teeth he had left repaired.

This is the critical dental surgery that kept Wayne from being shipped off to the big house last week.

1. Ouch. I had wisdom teeth out, 4 at once and it was painful. This would
be horrifying.

6. I've had at least 7 root canals in my life
(blessed with crappy teeth). As a kid, it was pretty horrifying and painful. Now? Not so bad at all. For that much work, I wonder if they just put him under. Truly the worst of it for me is keeping my mouth cranked open like that, and my neck bent like that.

But yes, that's a whole lot of dental work!

14. I've had more than a few of them, too, lol
Although mine were already out, so it wasn't quite as involved. Two during a pregnancy, so just Novocaine. It was sore, but not too bad. My son had his removed and he was in a lot of pain for a few days.

Maybe I'm just way too used to dental procedures! The worse after a root canal is when your teeth aren't matching up right and the tooth gets quite angry. I hurt more this last time because of that. Just took grinding down some more of the tooth so it didn't hit the other one.

I imagine if I knew I was facing several at once, I'd just have them knock me out and get it all done at once - sort of like pulling a bandaid off, you know?

2. Jeez, why all at once?
I'm having a dental reconstruction done, and I had two 4-hour "grindathon" appointments early this month, one for uppers, one for lowers. Couldn't L. Wayne have had it that way?

He would be better off if he had my dentist.

17. How does someone eat with that stuff in their mouth?
Edited on Fri Feb-19-10 01:28 PM by gmoney
does he brush with Crest or Brasso?

Hard to believe there are legitimate dentists who do that kind of dental mutilation.

18. My mother-in-law had six root canals at one time a number of years ago
She felt a lot better to get all the infection out, but it did not do the job. Last fall she finally had the last of her teeth pulled and now has full dentures. Periodontal disease runs in that family and she never made sure all her children went to the dentist regularly.

Mr. csziggy had not been for ten years when I married him and I had to drag him in to mine. That went well until our dentist retired and it took a few years for us to find a new one. I had a root canal in October; Mr. csziggy had bone grafts the first of this month. I'm hoping that we can get back on a regular schedule of care and not need so much work in the future!

Filling fell out: no pain
tooth broke: no pain
Tooth ground down: no pain
Root canal: up until 4:00am, ran and got ambosol, slept with tube in my hand.
