Lesser known celebs movies
In my country ( I'm from the Netherlands) it's hard to buy movies my favorite lesser known actors are in. Of course I can buy them at some big auction sites, but that's not that easy as it seams. Either I need a credit card, or live in a certain region, or they don't sell international, and it can get very exppensive also. Maybe you think it's a little exaggerated, but that ticks me of. I really want those movies. Are there people here with the same problem? Have you found a way to solve it? How?

1. Welcome to DU
:hi:

I'm afraid I don't have any bright ideas--especially since you're in the Netherlands--but I've always used Amazon or eBay to find obscure titles.

Good luck!

2. Examples?
Maybe if you list some of the celebs. or some of the movies in which you have an interest
it will be easier to see what you mean.

4. Agreed
and there are some sites out there for downloads such as iTunes. You might also look a www.hulu.com for some TV shows that might be of interest.

3. if you have a bank account
I think you can use amazon.com. While they don't have every movie ever made, I've been able to find 90% of what I was looking for there.

5. The actors
I'm talking about are Paul Francis and Chad Smith.
And I have tried Amazon, but that's a different region, so the dvd's I buy there won't play on my dvd player. The same things count for other auction sites. There are some european ones, but they don't sell the movies in question. And of course I can download them, but I'm not a download-fan, for several reasons. My computer can't handle a lot of downloads, if I download to many movies, there is a big chance he will crash or just won't download them. And I rather have dvd's 'cause you can take them where ever you go, like movie night with your friends.

6. You can get a region-free dvd player
and then you can play from any region. The cost about the same as a regular one, in fact. :)

I have one in addition to my Dennon player, so that I can play European releases, etc.

8. what paul francis movies?
he seems to have a few bit parts in movies, but he's mostly done television and a few video game voiceovers. The same with Chad Smith if you're talking about the same Chad Smith that's got a small part in "Hostage". From what I can tell you're not missing much and if you can't afford a region-free DVD player then you probably shouldn't spend money on bad movies where you're fav. actors only have tiny parts.

9. Thanks.
Do you have favorite actors/actresses? I guess you do, do you have their movies on dvd?
Well, Paul and Chad are my favorite actors, and I think that they are great. Chad also does a lot of theatre. And Paul is also a writer. And that they aren't in any 'great movies' doesn't mean that they aren't good actors.

12. not really my point. but yeah, do what you want.
region free dvd players are about 65 bucks from what i just saw online. That's the cost of 2-3 dvd's. My best solution.

And actually, I don't think I've ever bought a dvd for myself. I've gotten 5-6 as gifts and I've given them as gifts. I used to rent, now I have netflix. I do buy cd's. But they aren't region specific.

15. Ok.
So you haven't bought dvd's for yourself, but I want to and I try to. I'm more into movies than music.
I know what your point is, but we all have different things we like. But anyway, I am looking around on the net for a region free player. And there is even a chance that my own dvd player can be made region free. ( Didn't know that it was possible ) I have to find out how but I'm going to try.

Thanks.
