Live Action Movie Review - Visitor Q
Country of origin: Japan

Year: 2001

Genre: Drama

Story: Visitor Q depicts an extremely dysfunctional family. The father of the family encourages the dysfunction in order to make either a reality show or news special to boost his media career.

Acting: Very good.

Humor: You may be humored by some of the dysfunctional scenes, or you may just be extremely offended.

Violence: No gruesome blood soaked violence, but definitely disturbing.

Sex: The sex scenes are strong and disturbing, but not graphic. The sex scenes are designed to shock and/or offend.

Overall: Visitor Q is a Takashi Miike film (Gozu, Fudoh, Ichi the Killer, Audition, Izo). I love Miike, but this is not my favorite movie by him. The movie is not bad in any way, but it is missing something the other movies have. Visitor Q definitely delivers in the fucked up shit department, but can be a bit slow at times. I suggest Visitor Q to Miike fans, fucked up movie fans, or those who really enjoy anti-reality show propaganda.

I don't think I am allowed to post what is about to happen.
