Movies Based in Louisiana
I was just watching Robert Duvall's 1997 film "The Apostle."

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118632/?c=1

From the heart of a great actor the Apostle is numinous. A part of the film was placed in Boutte, one of the fishing town areas afflicted by the BP oil spill.

Watching The Apostle, I thought of some movies made or set in Louisiana.

The Cat People, The Big Easy and Interview with the Vampire come to mind.

Any more which you like?

I didn't like The Big Easy .. I lived there and the accents were horrible and the scene cuts didn't make sense. Angel Heart, Pretty Baby, A Streetcar Named Desire and Jezebel are goods ones for the list.

It's set in the bayou region of Louisiana, though its a parable about Vietnam.

Also, All the King's Men, about Huey Long.

6. Eve's Bayou
I think about five people saw it at the theater, and about 40 people have rented it. Really good movie, though.

7. More...filmed entirely in NOLA

I'm Mimosa Mirabella on IMDB, btw.

Runaway Jury (2003) was pretty entertaining.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0313542/

It's based on a Grisham novel. Stars John Cusack, Dustin Hoffman, Rachel Weisz and Gene Hackman. It was at least as good as The Firm.

A couple of months ago we saw Herzog's Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans (2009). It starred Nicolas Cage and is quite weirdly unforgettable! *LOL*

8. I am planning on shooting a
sequel to "The Stuart House Recordings" which I am in pre-production right now, in New Orleans. The Film office there has been very helpful.
