For sale: Dennis Hopper's compound
The "Easy Rider" left us earlier this year. Now his stunning Venice, Calif., compound is on the market - for $6.25 million.

The exterior contrasts the plain industrial facade of corrugated steel with an old-fashioned white picket fence.
There are also three two-story guest houses from plans drawn by the legendary Frank Gehry.
The houses may be sold separately.
The compound sprawls over a few small lots in crowded Venice, a once downscale community on the Pacific that movie stars such as Hopper made trendy. There's enough space in Hopper's narrow side yard for a lap pool.
The interior is marked by severe, unadorned surfaces, except for the ceiling with its beams, track lighting and exposed conduit. Hopper spiced up the bare living room with bright oriental carpets, earth-toned vases, floor lamps and works of abstract art.
