Who they were: Vintage Jakey Gyllenhaal
Vintage Jakey Gyllenhaal

The hair says: MasterCuts Sunday afternoon special.

The glasses say: Picked out from the designer section at LensCrafters.

The smirk says: "I will remind the teacher that our homework assignment is due today."

The whole thing says: "Did you know a human head weighs 8lbs?"

Reese Witherspoon is going to kick herself in the chin when she sees this, because this is what her child with Jakey could've looked like!

1. And the point of the Web site that ran this was???
"Look, some celebrities looked REALLY GEEKY as kids!" Well, didn't most of us?

Or is it "Hey, let's all make fun of a kid's picture just because he looks geeky! It's OK--he's an adult celebrity now!"

I guess I just don't see where this is so witty or improves the world. I don't have kids, but if I did, one of them might actually look like that! And so what if he did? I would still love him.

Oh, I forgot. Kids should be under pressure to look sophisticated and hip at all times. And adults should burn all their childhood pictures, lest anyone discover that they looked nerdy when they were young. Heaven forfend!

6. He's cute, little kid or big kid. He has lovely eyes
even back then. Never mind the glasses. Incidentally, nearsighted people have sexy eyes without their glasses. It has something to do with them not being able to focus at a distance that gives them a bedroom look.
