People: Paris Hilton faces felony drug charge, insists cocaine was not hers.
Source: Mercury News

Hilton and her boyfriend, 34-year-old Las Vegas nightclub mogul Cy Waits, were pulled over in black Cadillac Escalade that Waits was driving. Flynn said the vehicle smelled of marijuana smoke. Waits then failed a field sobriety test, reports said, and Hilton asked for permission to go into Wynn Las Vegas to use the bathroom. She grabbed her purse to get some lip balm, Flynn said, and a small plastic "bindle" containing 0.8 grams of cocaine powder fell out. Although she apparently owned everything else in the purse, Flynn said Hilton denied the bindle or its contents were hers.

"Hilton admitted the Albuterol ... was hers and is prescribed to her, but the suspected cocaine was not," Flynn wrote. "I asked Hilton whose cocaine it was, and she said she had not seen it but now thought it was gum."

13. He's one of those "mogul-ly bodyguard" types.
Beating his way up the ladder of success.

6. I have no schadenfreude when it comes to this...
Though I detest the "celebrity for the sake of celebrity " (and without talent) phenomenon and she certainly has done nothing with her tremendous advantages (as far as I can tell) to earn any respect, I generally have no desire to see anyone sent to jail over victimless crimes.

8. Same here.
I think drugs should be legal.

But still, I am stunned by her stupidity and recklessness - as well as her utter failure to do anything positive with all of the advantages with which she was favored.

11. I agree
it's a very big problem. Most of the collisions we get on Highway 2 involve alcohol, teenage boys or both.

12. "insists cocaine was not hers" Suggestion to Ms. Hilton - SHUT THE FUCK UP.
Considering that she doesn't have to be in films and TV, I admire her work ethic, and I admit I think she's quite beautiful. (I don't admire our media for somehow embracing this untalented poster child for higher taxes for the rich, however)

With that said, I will tell my boys this when they grow up and this is general information for anyone - unless the reason is obviously benign, when a policeman asks you a question (and especially after you've been arrested or detained) - SHUT THE FUCK UP.

One is VERY RARELY released or exonerated because they talked to the police, and almost always gets in deeper problems because of it.
