"Putting her on the cover was not meant to put a husband-stealer on a pedestal"
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/10/29/shape-editor-leann-rimes-_n_775830.html

The editor-in-chief of 'Shape' is sorry about the magazine's decision to feature LeAnn Rimes on its October cover alongside the coverline "How Working Out Saved Me."

In the interview, LeAnn opened up for the first time about why she cheated on ex-husband Dean Sheremet and how working out with new boyfriend Eddie Cibrian (who was also married when they began seeing each other) helped keep her sane during the affair.

TooFab has the email that 'Shape' editor Valerie Latona sent out to disappointed readers:

You are all in good company (why I'm e-mailing you all together) as you all agree Shape has made a terrible mistake in putting LeAnn Rimes on the cover.

Please know that our putting her on the cover was not meant to put a husband-stealer on a pedestal-but to show (through her story) how we all are human. And this woman in particular found strength in exercise in what she said was her most difficult personal moment.

But it did not come across that way ... And for that I'm terribly sorry.

I hope that we can do better the next time for those of you that will give us another chance.

Humbly,

Valerie

1. Women don't steal husbands
And men don't steal wives.

The cheaters just start fucking around. Bad choice in marrying a cheater. Cheaters = zero class. They are so cowardly that they won't allow their spouses the grace of ending the marriage first. Cake meet eat it too.

2. So now a cheater is with another cheater - odds are it won't last.
I know a guy who married a woman that he started seeing before she was divorced. He was so surprised that she cheated on him too.

What on earth did he expect?

3. He's sorry?
I'm not.

Anyway, she didn't throw a sack over his head, club him, and drag him away from his wife. The guy's a dirtbag. Hope they are happy together.

4. Celebrities, and human beings alike, all make mistakes!
I can see how SOME people would follow the line of logic, that would lead them to believe that featuring her the cover was advocating for cheating. However, I don't necessarily agree, I think that since this is an isolated incident, that her cheating and her stardom, should be considered as completely seperate entities. This is disregarding any personal opinions about what she has done. If you look at her throughout her career, she's certainly been successful enough and enough of a role model, to not have her directly associated with a bad image.

I also believe that cheating does NOT automatically, without any shadow of a doubt make anyone a bad person. Of course, this argument will get all philosophical, but there are too many outside factors, additional angles, matters of context to consider.

Sure, it's a moral judgment, but if anything, they're sending out the message, that she, a celebrity, made a mistake, and is thus revealing that celebrities too are human, and make mistakes.

5. Mistake?
A mistake is when I transpose a couple of numbers and call the wrong person. A mistake is when I change lanes thinking it'll be faster, then traffic comes to a standstill and the lane I was in previously starts moving. A mistake is when I forget my grocery list and have to shop from memory.

She fucked someone else's husband. That was no mistake.

6. I have to honestly say when I saw this mag in the store I was
surprised. I thought to myself if it was People it would be no big deal but this is a health mag.

Her body looks great but she looks so unhappy in the face, especially the eyes.
