David Cassidy busted for DUI

A Florida Highway Patrol trooper arrested former teen idol David Cassidy Wednesday after he saw a white Mercedes weaving on the Florida Turnpike.

When the trooper approached the car he wrote in his report that "I could smell a slight odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage come from the defendant's mouth."

The 60-year-old Cassidy, who lives in Fort Lauderdale, said he had a glass of wine around lunch time and a Hydrocodone about 3 hours after that. Cassidy said he was on prescription medication.

Another trooper arrived on the scene and sobriety exercises were conducted which they say Cassidy failed.

A search of Cassidy's car turned up a half-empty bottle of Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Breath tests indicate Cassidy registered .139 and .141. The legal limit is .08.
