TNT's 'The Closer' will end after its seventh season in 2011 based on decision by star Kyra Sedgwick

The end is nearing for TNT's "The Closer," which will wrap up its run with one more season in 2011.

Ending the show after its seventh season was the decision of series star Kyra Sedgwick.

"'The Closer' was a pivotal series in setting a new course for TNT's original programming, while also serving as a prime example of the storytelling strength possible on cable television," TNT president Steve Koonin said in a statement.

The show has earned great critical acclaim during its run.

3. Half the shows on my Myth box are The Closer.

She does such a wonderful job of playing a southern woman, since she's a native of NYC. Plus, her natural voice is much deeper. She's also the executive producer, so she has the final say.

My favorite part is how every character is so quirky. Lt. Tao, when asked how many suspects are still on that list she requested: "14,692 - approximately." :rofl:

Besides 30Rock, one of the few things on TV worth watching besides C-SPAN.

5. It's a great show and I will miss it

But I expect she is making a good decision. Most shows get stale plots after a number of years. While theirs are still good, some plots in the last year have seemed as though they were re-worked from earlier years.

And I expect Ms. Sedgwick has other projects she would like to do.

Talk about a hoot! Dressed up as a schmuck, he's crazy about all things Kevin Bacon, says his wife thinks he looks a little like Kevin Bacon.. :rofl:
