Comic David Frye, known for Nixon impression, dies

AS VEGAS (AP) — Comic David Frye, whose impressions of Presidents Richard Nixon, Lyndon Johnson and other prominent political figures vaulted him to popularity in the 1960s and 1970s, has died in Las Vegas, his family confirmed Saturday. He was 77.

1. He was brilliant. I used to wet my pants whenever he was

on the Smothers Brothers' show.

2. He did a perfect Richard Nixon. Even to the point he was banned

from a show because the network thought his portrayal was too dark and offensive.

3. An extremely talented man

I got his "I Am the President" album in 1970, and faithfully practiced as many impressions as I could off of it, becoming the class clown.
