M Night Shyamalan's Last Airbender wins Razzie Awards (BBC)
M Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender has blown away all competition at the Razzies - Hollywood's Oscar spoof mocking the year's worst performances.

The film won five Golden Raspberry Awards - including worst director for Shyamalan - in a light-hearted ceremony on the eve of Sunday's Oscars.

Ashton Kutcher snatched worst actor for Valentine's Day; his co-star Jessica Alba won worst supporting actress.

The Last Airbender - in which a boy uses his extraordinary powers to bring harmony to a warring world - won worst film, worst director and worst screenplay for Shyamalan and worst supporting actor (for Jackson Rathbone).

It also won a special award for "worst eye-gouging misuse of 3D".

1. All of his films deserve razzies.
Who the hell is still giving him cash to make movies?

5. Anyone who wants a return on their investment
Against everything decent and holy, Shyamalan is a money maker. Look at these figures:

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/people/chart/?view=Director&id=shyamalan.htm

Those are domestic numbers. Click through and you'll see the worldwide figures.

Try The Happening. It made $64,506,874 after a $30,517,109 opening, so word of mouth killed boxoffice in mere weeks. Worldwide gross however, was $163,403,799, against a $48,000,000 budget. If marketing was time and a half of budget, there's still $40+ million profit.

Airbender drew in $319,128,933 against a $150,000,000 budget.

The only clinker in the bunch was Lady in the Water, which grossed $2,000,000 over budget.

Those figures don't include commercial tie-ins, DVD, or broadcast.

Like Uwe Boll, he's not going away, no matter how much he stinks.

4. What made you think I said they were lying
The film is an utter piece of crap. I definately highly recommend the T.V. series.

6. I've liked a lot of what he's done at times
Seems like most of his movies I've enjoyed until he did something horrible to completely ruin the suspense and story. Haven't seen his last two though. Pretty much gave up after "The Village". I've got to admit though, the trailers for his movies are usually pretty darn good, lol.

9. The movie was really bad. If M. Night Shyamalan was present when I saw the movie,
I would have cut him. Unforgivable. Nerds should be legally allowed to pay other people to beat him up.

If he just made a bad movie, I could have forgiven him, but making one of the best TV shows into a crapfest makes Lord Buddha cut himself.
