Sheen's Kids Removed After Alleged Death Threat

A judge temporarily stripped Charlie Sheen of custody of his twin sons Tuesday, after Brooke Mueller submitted a declaration in which she alleged Charlie said, "I will cut your head off, put it in a box and send it to your mom" ... TMZ has learned.

TMZ broke the story ... Brooke's lawyer got a temporary restraining order against Charlie, prohibiting him from going near her. The judge also ordered Charlie to surrender their twin boys -- Bob and Max -- to Brooke while the TRO remains in effect.

Police removed the twins from Charlie's house late Tuesday.

According to legal docs, Brooke also claims ... on February 23 Charlie threw a phone inside his house and then with a penknife in hand, threatened to stick it in Brooke's eye.

It's a temporary order. In this particular case Charlie Sheen's very public at times delusional sounding behavior, combined with his past incidents, seem to give plenty of reason to remove the kids from the home while an investigation takes place.

Charlie through his words and actions has proven that he is not only riding the crazy train, but that he's the conductor of the crazy train. It's wholly appropriate for the authorities to insist that his children get off at the next stop. I don't think Charlie can get better anytime soon.

This is a tragedy in progress and all the media can do is just point their fingers and shake their heads and continue to watch this man totally destroy himself and everyone around him. Not that Charlie Sheen is anyone special, but his fammily has wealth and they can afford to pay for the lawyers and legal proceedings that are necessary for this man to be committed to a residential facility to dry out and start a real road to recovery.

With my simple means, I was able to do a 90-day commitment to a facility for my ex-husband. I hope Charlie's family stages an intervention. They are pretty much his only hope at this point.

comes out of all of this looking like the reasonable, adult parent and person that she has in all of this (and I know this story isn't about Denise) it just goes to show how crazy Sheen has gotten.
