Ashley Judd's Memoir: Star Details Molestation, Dysfunctional Family In 'All That Is Bitter & Sweet'
from HuffPost:

Ashley Judd offers a sad, sobering look into the home life of her famous family in her new memoir, "All That Is Bitter & Sweet."

Radar Online, which obtained a copy in advance of its Tuesday release date, reveals excerpts in which Judd counters the notion, made famous by her mother, Naomi, that the Judd family put the fun in dysfunctional.

After her father moved out, Ashley says, her mother began another relationship, with a man who was an abusive heroin addict.

"I was taught to believe that our lifestyle was normal and never to question it or complain, even when I was left alone for hours, sometimes days at a time, or when I was passed without warning to yet another relative," Judd writes. .............(more)

1. Might as well make a buck off your misfortunes...
What about all those people who can't get royalties from their abuse?

2. I have a hard time meeting anyone my age who is not
sexually and or physically abused. And they are all nobodies and not putting it out in public.

3. And there's a new show starting soon starring "The Judds"
It's on one of the cable channels. Coincidental timing?

4. Most of the book is about
the charity work she does and the people's stories she shares from the humanitarian causes she works for in third world countries. The personal stuff is a very small part-- mostly to relate her own life to the ones she encounters.

Her mother and sister have always seemed to me very tacky. Many years ago I think I saw them on a daytime tv show--it could have been Oprah or some similar type. Anyway, I think it was when the mother was announcing her new book about finding out she has Hep C or something and I remember even back then Ashley would not come on and they mentioned how she is now working on her own career.

I guess she doesn't wish to be involved with their new reality show venture either. Can't blame her.

Perhaps this was coordinated, I don't know. She has had a publicity machine prominently in her life since she was a kid. I don't know why she didn't choose a different line of work.
