Is there a pro-Democratic message board that happens to ...
attract a very large amount of sarcasm, irony, and deadpan humor?

Is there such a board that also doesn't forbid participation of Republicans?

It occurs to me that just as Stephen Colbert has Republican fans, such a board might attract Republicans. It would be much more fun to actually watch Republicans in action posting on a thread than to watch Stephen Colbert and merely imagine the reactions of his Republican fans.

2. You could start such a board yourself.
There are several free discussion forum platforms available. Good luck with your venture.

3. First I would like to know whether such a message board already exists.
Edited on Sun Apr-10-11 08:48 AM by Boojatta
After all, if I were to start one myself, then I would want to know about my competition. Also, if I merely want to participate in such a board without being involved in its creation or management, then it's helpful to know whether or not such a board exists.

4. Try...
Lucianne.com's The Connection--though they are not exactly what I would call pro-Dem, they're a really nice group of people.

6. No
Republicans aren't allowed to post here. Someone with a slightly different opinion, or who uses the wrong words, or asks the wrong questions here will be tombstoned in a hurry! (I frequently call DU 'Eggshells' to people who ask me about it LOL--'cause that's how we have to walk here--very, very carefully.) It's in the rules.

11. Please take the Original Message of this thread at face value.
I presume that there are lots of pro-Democratic message boards besides DU, and I'm curious about whether or not what I described exists.

12. The closest I've seen to what you're describing
Boojatta is in the Politics & Society Section of Irishabroad.com

It goes in cycles and right now there is a lot of American politics being discussed by both liberals and conservatives. There is also a couple of posters who are wry witted as you described.

13. If you want...
A really nice, readable message board, that's willing to discuss anything, Lucianne is the one. It's got a fast-moving news side and then a message/chat side with lots of walls. They're not afraid to talk about anything--and there are no flame wars there--they are decent folks.

17. You ever try city-data.com?
They are neither pro Democrat or pro Republican. I post there more there than here because I can interact with blowhard republicans.:)

18. City Data is the most racist, hard-core conservative, hillbilly forum online...
...second only to Stormfront.

I just got banned from there for calling someone out and asking if they were a Nazi,
after they said the cops should, and I quote, "shoot to kill" OWS protesters.

I'm not even making that up.

I reported that post to the mods, and the one following it that LoL'ed and said something like,
"they'd just have to get two or three and the rest would leave" (!)

That offensive exchange stayed up on the boards for 15 minutes after I reported it.
But, my sincere question about him being a Nazi got me immediately banned for "trolling".

:wtf:

I gave up on City-Data for a long list of reasons which I won't go into here. I've found another newer group which is similar but much less active.
