I thought the product placement was bad during the the last Bond, but Daniel Craig's run is horrible.

Just tattoo an Arby's logo on his forehead and get it over with.

New James Bond Film, 'Bond 23' To Get $45 Million From Product Placement

James Bond's only loyalty is to the Queen, and being a badass: for 50 years, no temptress or evil Communist villain could lure him. Turns out, what those double agents and cackling evil doers were lacking were watches and some Chinese electronics.

The Australian reports that producer MGM and distributor Sony will work to procure $45 million in product placement advertising in the new James Bond film, shattering the previous record of $20 million in "Minority Report." Sony will be sending out brand ambassadors to a number of companies, including Chinese tech empires.

Of course, corporate influence in 007's adventures is nothing new; he raced around the worldwide in a name-dropped Aston Martin for years before deliberately switching over to a BMW.

Known for his fine taste in luxury, Bond's watches, clothing and other accessories have long been sponsored by those looking for good marketing by association; there's an entire website dedicated to the Bond Lifestyle. As AskMen.com notes, if Tom Ford was good enough for James Bond in "Quantum of Solace," he's good enough for you.

3. Moonraker was the film that damn near invented product placement
Entire sequences with billboards for actual products. Here is a list from imdb of product placements for Moonraker

Bollinger Champagne; Bell Helicopters; Canon Cameras; British Airways; Marlboro; Seven Up Soft Drink; Glaston Boat Company; Christian Dior; Seiko Watches, particularly the Seiko M354 Memory-Bank Calendar and Seiko H357 Duo Display watches; and Air France.

Moonraker was the last Bond film I saw in a theater. It was so awful.

6. you know, as a general rule i don't have a problem with product placement.
the problem is when it seems to be blatant and overemphasized. Say they are using a computer and it happens to have the apple on it or something but isn't highlighted, is just there in the shot, then that is fine. but when it seems they are going out of their way to highlight something it's ridiculous. If I want commercials, I can watch tv at home. Reminds me of The Truman Show.... don't know if anyone remembers that, but they always had the blatant product placement. it was so obvious it was kind of funny.

10. It's either that or no Bond movie at all.

MGM was broke and canceled new Bond movies until this setup happened. If the movie is enjoyable I don't really care if I can see Coke cans throughout or what have you.

9. I usually don't even notice it, unless it's really blatant.
Walk around in public or wherever and take a look around. There's product placement everywhere in real life, so in the movies it just looks like anywhere else....if done right. If I walk down the street and see a thousand ads then it's not going to bother me to see Bond walking down a street with a thousand ads. besides, I really liked the last two Bond movies (Casino Royale my be favorite of all of them, and that's saying something as I've lways been big Bond fan, even the books), and if this is the only eway they're going to make one than so be it.

One the worst examples of product placement is in Godzilla '85, where the scenes added by America have everyone in the Pentagon drinking Dr. Pepper, cans held just right so the logo was visible. Most of the time I don't notice it though, because I see it everyday. It can be realistic if done right.

11. Well
If the producers lose their obsession with copying jason Bourne and give us a more classic Bond again I don't care how many
product placements they have.I am not going to get excited about this till I hear more.

12. The new Britney Spears video is laughable. A musical (being generous here) infomercial. I
can't believe anyone with any integrity would attach their name to it. (And, BTW, I'm not a fan but watched it out of curiosity when the buzz was all about the blatent product placement - I wondered, how bad could it be. Very bad, apparently.)
