My first feature film was released in the US today. Netflix hopefully to follow.

Its a Sci-Fi creature/comedy called "Lizard Boy". I directed it and co-wrote it, and we produced it a couple of years ago for less than the coffee and bagel budget of a hollywood feature.
It's been a long hard road trying to get it distributed, but we finally landed US and international deals.
The first review I've seen is pretty positive:

I like the fact that this particular reviewer got the humor. A lot of people told me to not play up the comedy aspect and sell it as a straight horror/action movie - hence the current trailer does not really focus on the humor - but I'm glad to see, at least to some, the humor comes across.

Also, if enough people save it to their Netflix que, Netflix will order it. I'm told we need about 300 "saves" before they will order it.

Any comments, suggestions, good or bad from my friends at DU are welcome.

11. If you login to your Netflix account

do a search on the the title it should come up and you can save to your que. If you only have Netflix on demand and not the mail delivery, it may not show up.

Here are a few more reviews for Lizard Boy. The first two are pretty favorable. Again I like the fact that the humor comes across.

Most of the complaints we've had are related to the makeup effects looking cheesy and low budget...well yeah...we had ZERO makeup budget! It was all we could do to pay for gas and food for the make up artist and sculptor. Hopefully the comedic elements make it a little forgiving. Some of the nastier comments on Youtube have been from people with really bad spelling and grammar, and no sense of humor. I keep telling myself they must be right wingers ; )
