Edited on Mon Sep-26-11 05:09 AM by Syrinx
I only became a serious viewer of the show this season.

Fring is threatening to kill Walter's entire family, including his infant daughter.

Walter wants to get a new identity through the owner of an appliance parts dealer, but he needs a half-million dollars.

He doesn't have enough money, because Skylar spent $617,000, and some change, to pay off that dude's IRS bill. And that guy was "accidentally murdered" along the way too.

It's not looking good for Walter. How's he going to get out of this mess?

1. That was good.
I've been watching from the very beginning and this show has stayed consistently great.

2. you think he's going to try to kill Fring, before Fring kills him?
Walter is in a bad way.

And it makes me mad that we only have two more episodes until we have to wait for another year. :(

3. Obviously
he was trying to kill Fring, or to be more precise, he was trying to goad Jessie into killing Fring.

Now, I don't know what he's going to do. He doesn't have the money to disappear, and there's no way he'll be able to get anywhere near Fring.

I can see a number of possibilities. He could try again to convince Jessie to do it. He could try to somehow orchestrate an armed confrontation between Fring and Hank in the hope that Hank will kill Fring (stupid, but this is Walt, after all). He could try to put a hit on Gus somehow (with money from where?)

Maybe he'll try to pin the Beneke "murder" on Fring.

9. where did all the money go?
I mean besides the $617,000. Hasn't he made millions? They bought their son a PT cruiser (poor kid), but other than that, I don't recall a lot of spending since I've been watching.

I wonder if Jessie still has the "special" cigarette?

4. You need a long weekend to watch all the previous seasons on DVD...
The show has always built and the changes over time--with Walt--with Jesse, are worth the time.

Good series. That it can look at the human side behind drug crime in such a way that makes you care, is not common in US tv. This year's choice of "bad guy foils" are really good. Gus Fring is particularly captivating.

8. "Gus Fring is particularly captivating"
I agree. I've seen that actor in a lot of tv shows and movies over the years, but never really knew his name, or much of anything about him. So I looked up Giancarlo Esposito on Wikipedia. His immediate heritage is also very interesting.

Esposito was born in Copenhagen, Denmark to an Italian father and African-American mother. His mother was an opera and nightclub singer from Alabama, who once appeared on the same bill as Josephine Baker. His father was from Naples, and worked as a stagehand and carpenter. Esposito lived in Europe, New York, and Cleveland until the family settled in Manhattan when he was six.

5. It's available on Netflix. I tried watching it, and was on the first episode
but I am not sure about it. The scene with his wife in the bed where she is 'taking care of him' while she never bothers to look away from her laptop and he is falling asleep is weird and I ended up turning it off. I have heard good things about that show, but I did like when he told that car wash guy to go f himself.

11. Probably not for you, then.
You can't relate to his feelings about working at the car wash? Having to deal with his shit head students taking pictures of him doing a job to help make it so his family can survive? I thought it was a great scene establishing what Walter was going through.

But if you can't handle the masturbation scene, then the dissolving dead bodies in acid will probably be over the top for you.

10. Bryan Cranston did a pretty good nervous breakdown
He's great on this show. I also think he did a great job on Malcolm. The guy has range. :)

12. I suspect Walt's cancer is back. Have you noticed he's starting to cough...and as
we all know, every detail in the Breaking Bad's story is significant. They could sell the car wash. Or less likely, they could get the money back from Ted (are we sure he's dead?) Walt could borrow money from Jesse and facilitate his escape, too.

But he's probably going to kill Fring and evolve into full-blown Heisenberg. I can't imaging how the writers will wrap up the next season. I hope it's not some lame ending with Walt getting shot, ala Big Love.
