I won't even say it's a particularly well-crafted movie, but it sure hits the zitgeist, and no better day than today.

"People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people."

1. That's right, I forgot. Remember remember the 5th of November
The day Guy Fawkes and his co-conspirators failed in their attempt to blow up the British Parliament in order to install a Roman Catholic Monarch to what they saw as it's rightful place.

How is that appropriate, we don't have a monarchy let alone want a Catholic one.

9. The movie has nothing much to do with that.
Instead, the movie is about an attempt to displace
a violently authoritarian government, one that routinely
monitors its citizens and imprisons and tortures its
dissenters and uses an invented, distorted religion
as one tool in its armamentarium along with endless
media propaganda.

The movie is set in the very near future.

You should see it some time.

6. I watched it again a few days ago.
It's very thought-provoking. Probably the most relevant of the dystopian sci-fi movies.

I've watched the movie many times and it even inspired me to get my first tattoo at age 55:

with "FREEDOM" above it and "FOREVER" below it.
