Black Sabbath to reunite for tour, album

Updated November 13, 2011 13:53 -

British heavy metal legends Black Sabbath have announced they will reunite for a tour and to make a new album, the original four members of the band led by Ozzy Osbourne have announced.

The group, whose hits include Paranoid and Iron Man, unveiled their plans at the legendary Whisky A Go Go club on Sunset Strip, where they played their first Los Angeles gig four decades ago.

"We've tried a reunion before and it didn't work, but this time, for some magical reasons ... we've written seven or eight songs and they're really good," said Osbourne.

Guitarist Tony Iommi said the group's members had always stayed in touch, but it was good to be back in the band.

3. Was only 14 year old when their first album came out !
I listened to what I consider the best rock and hard rock music out Led Zepplin ,Pink Floyd,The Who,of course the Beatles and Stones ! The list goes on and on . During the 70-80's so many great albums and musicians where at the top of their game . You could by any one of Forieners albums and every song is great.Boston another band that has a all time classic album with every song on it a great song. Iam 54 now and have 14 year old son who listens to RAP music :-( I just dont get it ,I mean some of the RAP is ok however it in my opinion does not even come close the what we where listening to.Black Sabbath also had a great first album and more to follow. I use to listen to it all the time, remember sweet leaf. Those where the good old days!

What, are they in there 60's now? What a spectacle! Old bald guys singing teenage crap.

Should be great for 12 year old boys, though.

6. ... ugh... I hope it doesn't suck, but I'm sure it will.
They basically had two great albums and a few with some ok songs. Ozzy was smart to leave - he then had a few really good, but very different, solo albums, and Black Sabbath were better with Dio for awhile than they had been with Ozzy towards the end. In any case, they'll play some of their good old tunes on tour, and it will make some fans happy.

8. But didn't their lead singer die not too long ago?
At least the talented, sober one with the great voice did.

11. How come the bands I like don't get back together?
I'd love to see Circus Maximus reunited with Jerry Jeff Walker and Bob Bruno, but no way in hell will it happen.

I'd love to see Shriekback with Andrews, Barker, Allen, and Marsh, when Andrews wasn't the boss, but one of equals.

I'd love to see Elvis Costello with the "My Aim Is True" band.

I thought 99.9F° much better than any of Suzanne Vega's "girl with a guitar" records.

I think the French, Frith, Kaiser, and Thompson records are as good as any of their solo work. Stupid fun too, and you know that whatever sense of humor Frith and Thompson share is is way out there (March of the Cosmetic Surgeons).

And I want to see Styx get back together JUST to do "Plexiglass Toilet".

12. Black Sabbath is the big bang of metal. There was no "metal" prior to Sabbath.
