Illustrator/Graphic Designer looking for position in Charlotte, NC

My son, who is an award winning illustrator and graphic designer(Apex Award for magazine cover, awards for editorial cartoons) is unexpectedly looking for a new job. He hs a BFA in Illustration from UNCC and experience in illustration and some design. He's self-published several comics, has some web design experience and is, if I may say so, very talented and a hard worker. He called tonight to say he had just been fired and his boss wouldn't give him a straight reason. He's in shock, since it's his first job and he thought he was due for a promotion. I'm in shock because I've been laid off a couple of times and I know how devastating it is.
