JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Campaigns Director League of Young Voters (LYV)* & League of Young Voters Education Fund (LYVEF)** DEADLINE: FRIDAY, JANUARY 14 (earlier is encouraged) Major Responsibilities: • Coordinate LIV/LYVEF piece of youth civic mapping project. • Write, document and publicize stories of local and national actions and successes. • Support League’s affiliates to develop campaigns and media strategy. Other Responsibilities: • Work closely with Alliance Building Director on alliances and joint campaigns, and serve as liaison to DC-based allies and resources. • Work closely with Field Director to support the campaign needs of local organizers. • Work closely with Online Director to develop online/offline issue campaigns that engage and expand our membership. • Work closely with Training Director to develop case studies, trainings and materials relevant to issue campaigns. • Work closely with ally organizations on joint campaigns. • Work closely with Executive Director to develop and refine campaigns, messages and overall communications strategy. • Cultivate knowledge of tools and technologies to increase constituent engagement. • Represent LYVEF/LIV at conferences, trainings, workshops. • May be called on to facilitate meetings and strategy sessions as appropriate. • Participate in fundraising as it relates to campaigns and communications work. • Work within the ethics of sustainability, leadership development, and respect for local autonomy. • Report regularly to Executive Director with written documentation of results. JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Executive & Office Assistant League of Young Voters (LYV)* & League of Young Voters Education Fund (LYVEF)** DEADLINE: FRIDAY, JANUARY 14 (earlier is encouraged) RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Administrative support to Executive Director (50%) Serves as receptionist for incoming calls, mail and email Writes correspondence on Executive Director’s behalf Manages and updates relevant data systems Supports as needed with full range of executive support from errands to research to representing ED at events. Pro-actively takes work off of Executive Director’s plate. 2. Supports Operations Manager (50%) Performing multi-account book-keeping, finances, reporting, and compliance. Ensuring timely organizational responsiveness to requests from public. Maintaining office systems including data systems, mailings, bill payment, interface with vendors, and timely upkeep and repair of office equipment. Acting as purchase agent. Improving operational systems, cutting costs, improving efficiency. Supporting administrative needs of staff including event planning, purchase of plane tickets, technical support, and miscellaneous requests. Goes beyond call of duty to help staff, constituents, board members, and address anything that might otherwise slip through the cracks. Supporting logistics for Board meetings, and all other Board logistical needs. Holding down the fort and gives tour support when staff are away. Assisting field in administering local membership program. Orienting and managing volunteers and interns in NYC office to do data entry, mailings and other routine tasks.
