Prom dresses for sale
Pictures available. These have all been worn only once and are in excellent condition. The two Precious formals were both over $300 and purchased at a boutique the other one was purchased at Dillards for around $200. I will take precise measurements per request. Shipping is $7.50 each. I would also consider a barter if you have something you would like to trade.

#1 is a Precious formal gown, size 12. It is turquoise with irridescent gold. It is a beautiful gown and looks like a mermaid. It is 100% polyester. It has two layers. The overlay is irridiscent turquoise and looks like crepe. The bottom layer is turquoise. I am asking $50 for this dress.
I have a matching silk corsage for this dress that I will throw in for $5.

#2 is a Precious Formal gown, size 10. It is breathtaking. It is aqua blue as its base color. The bodice is beaded and is studded in rhinestones. It has 3 layers. The overlay is a muted floral pattern with pinks, yellows, greens and blues. The 2nd layer is aqua. The third layer is aqua tulle to give a big skirt. On second look of this dress, the second layer has some discoloration to it-it is not noticeable because of the overlay, but will go ahead and discount this dress to $35. It also has a matching silk corsage for an additional $5.

#3 is made by Niki and was purchased at Dillards, size 14. It is a deep reddish/maroon with sparkly flowers of the same color embossed through it. It has an irridescent quality to it. It has a shawl. I am asking $30 for this dress.

If you are interested, please PM me.
Thanks.
HWNN

2. Thanks for tip
Was going to offer them here first. I just plucked down another $300 for this year's prom dress, was hoping another DU'er could use them before I auctioned them off. That way if someone had something to trade it might help them out on the dollar side of it.
On the good side though, I only had one going to prom this year instead of two, lol.
First time in 4 years.:)

3. What a coincidence!
We were just talking this a.m. about how insidious capitalism is in working on us through our children...and I was reminiscing about the time my niece was in need of her first prom dress and her parents were hurting for money. We had a closet full of them from our two daughters, and we opened it up to her--all colors, all styles--none older than five years...none ever worn more than once. She wouldn't go for it. Had to have her own. Parental guilt kicked in and lo and behold, another prom dress sold for hundred bucks and the wheels of the economy keep on churnin', burnin'....

Good luck.

4. Isn't there some group that recycles prom dresses?
They do it for dirt poor kids, I guess...I seem to remember hearing a story about it a few years back on the tv, but I confess I listened with half an ear.

Who knows, those dresses just might do for a guest at a Royal Wedding, too...ooops, too late for that, but there may be other occasions where someone could wear something fancy like that.

The seller might want to put up a few pics of them, ya never know!

5. I wish it were that easy
My daughter would have worn one she already had, but she has a medical condition and put on a few pounds in some strange areas--none of them fit her.
We couldn't borrow one cause it would have had to be tailored and while friends were willing to lend her one, they didn't want them altered.
My other daughter is out of school and won't be wearing one again. We have donated 5 of them to kids who didn't have a dress to wear at all. We donate lots of clothes, but after everyone we know was accounted for, this is what was left, lol.
Was just trying to get a few bux back on my investments to defray the cost of this one and hopefully help someone out from having to fork over so much and still get a nice dress.
