03.04.08 -- significant in another way. My novel is in a store near you. Can you help?

Last week I turned 40. This week, my first book comes out. It has been an amazing year. I am now officially and forevermore a novelist. My dream has come true.

My novel, WAKE, is a story of a 17-year-old girl named Janie who gets sucked into other people's dreams. She can't stop it. She can't tell anybody -- they wouldn't believe her, or worse, they'd think she's a freak. So Janie lives on the fringe of society, cursed with an ability she doesn't want and can't control.

Can you help me spread the word about my book? You can find it here on Amazon.com. It's on-sale online and in bookstores everywhere now. If it sounds interesting to you, I hope you'll pick it up and check it out and think of your fellow DU'er with a grin. And if you don't have the funds to buy a book right now, no worries -- maybe you could just give it a kick and a rec or pass this info on to your friends.

I'm heading out on a book signing tour starting Wednesday -- maybe I'll be in a city near you. If so, I'd love to meet you. I'll be touring in Arizona, Michigan, Illinois and California this month. My full tour schedule is posted on my blog.

34. Hang in there...I know it's tough.

WAKE is the third novel I've written. The first novel I wrote received 68 rejections. I never even queried the second novel because the idea for WAKE came along. WAKE got snapped up by an agent the first week of queries. I'm so glad I kept writing and didn't hold out for that first one to make it. (and it doesn't mean that first one will never be on shelves...I have hopes for it one day)
